Referees & Marshals
Referees
The AVCC requires that all racing must be conducted by club registered Race Referees. The race committee is asking for volunteers to take on the role. The Referee should be knowledgeable in the rules of the AVCC, and the club, and be willing to enforce those rules to the benefit of the club and its members.
All current qualified referees have been rostered for all the road races and crits till the mid 2013 and this has been updated the RMS (Race Management System).
If a referee is unable to attend the allocated race, the rostered referee needs to arrange the swap with another referee. Once the swap has been arranged, email the race committee at race.committee@actvets.cc and we will the change the details in the RMS.
If you would like to nominate to be a club referee there are 2 options:
Option 1 – Attend a training course. We are running another course soon – watch the The Bleat.
Option 2 – Down load the course notes (www.actvets.cc/referees) and co-referee with a qualified referee.
If you choose to do the 2nd option, contact the qualified referee you want to work with, read the course notes and info guides, and co-referee the race. Once completed the qualified referee needs to email me to verify your attendance as co-referee. I will then add you to the qualified referee list.
Each referee will receive their membership for the year that they are rostered at the club’s expense – how this happen for 2013 – as there is a new online membership system and requires personal information, we will require you to join and pay for your membership as per the instructions for membership then as you do your first refereeing allocation you send an email to the memberships secretary (Barbara) and you will be refunded the fee.
If you are prepared to take on this role, please contact Pat at race.committee@actvets.cc
Documents specific to the club referees can be found below.
Marshals
The Vets Club races would not take place without the help of volunteer Club members – Marshals If every club member volunteered twice a year it should cover all races and crits. Email the race referee on the RMS if you able to help. Documents specific to club marshals can be found below.
The minimum number of marshals (in addition to the Race Referee) for the particular course venue is shown below:
